Golf and Fishing Packages
The parkland region
Has numerous lakes, some of which are gin clear and you can see bottom at 30 to 40 feet. These lakes are fertile with a high forage base of minnows, insects and freshwater shrimp. This is a fly fishing paradise for trout, bass, northern pike and musky! There are also perch, whitefish and walleye to be found here. This is the high prairie, with its beautiful boreal forests. The area has low fishing pressure and a stocking and aeration program second to none! |

Lakes
Stillwater
These stillwater (lakes) fisheries rival anything in the world -- and put many of them to shame. The reason is simple: the lakes in this region are crawling with a super-abundance of scuds (freshwater shrimp), which produces huge, deep-bodied, red-fleshed trout that often make you wish you could remember just how much backing you originally spooled on your reel. These fish can put on three or more pounds per year!
Big 7
The Shamu
The Shamu -- that legendary 27"+ rainbow trout -- is common throughout this area, and a lake must hold trout populations of 30" or over to even qualify for what we call Big 7 Status. We presently have seven lakes so designated such and three more about to break onto the scene. This designation is not handed out freely!
Rivers
The Pine
Picture a quiet little Appalachian Stream tucked away in the North Woods. Quiet sun-dappled pools and runs. Stony bottoms give way to quiet and thoroughly enjoyable pools. Good wading and sand bars and easy access. There are rainbows and brookies in upper reaches where there is little or no pressure (or trails). If your hearty and like wilderness you can hike off the road to the various stretches and fish the log jams and undercuts and 14" to 18" trout.
The Boggy
The Boggy will be receiving attention in 2002. Look at it as your secret spot--a work in progress. There is already a good population of Browns and more are being added. Just a wee bit thick with willows in some sections but worth a visit if you're used to it.
The Lake of The Prairies
This is a 67 km lake formed by the Assisppi dam. It straddles the Manitoba- Sask. boarder. This is the most productive walleye fishery in the province, not to mention that it produce large pike, very large pike 511/2 inches in 02! The fish in this lake grow very fast, due to a high forage base. This lake has low angling pressure and all walleye between 18 and 28 inches are released.
